One of Canada’s pioneering infrastructure investment funds is expanding and seeking an Analyst for their investment team in Toronto. This firm has earned a reputation for its active involvement in operational and construction-phase assets across the core and core-plus infrastructure sectors, including renewables, energy generation, hydrogen, transmission, storage, transportation, roads, schools, hospitals, utilities, and more. They are also recognized for intellectually challenging deals and growing businesses over an extended time frame, which has led to impressive investment returns. Their success can be attributed to their meticulous approach to due diligence, risk management, governance, and a robust asset management strategy.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone aspiring to establish a long-term career in infrastructure investment, with approximately 1-2 years of transaction analysis experience. Investing in real assets demands in-depth financial, legal and technical analysis, along with the cultivation of strong negotiation skills. The current team is comprised of highly intelligent and accomplished investors, which provides an exceptional opportunity for an Analyst to develop their skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Evaluate infrastructure investment opportunities, applying business/investment judgement and analytical skills; Develop and utilize complex financial models to evaluate and manage investments; Perform due diligence and create detailed presentations on prospective investment opportunities; Work with team members to oversee the performance and operations of investments; Collaborate on value creation opportunities, such as refinancings, add-on acquisitions and divestitures; Assist with special projects as they arise.

Qualifications Strong business and investment judgement. Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance – a focus on business, finance or accounting is preferred. Experience at: (i) a top tier investment bank with a focus on M&A or corporate finance, (ii) private investment fund, or (iii) management consulting firm. Experience in complex financial modeling of businesses, preferably infrastructure related.
