Crosbie & Company is an established Toronto-based boutique investment banking firm. Crosbie is looking for an investment banking analyst to work in a tight-knit and collegial team (10 people). The primary roles and responsibilities for this Analyst position include supporting other investment banking professionals with research, preparing new business proposals, and executing transactions across a broad variety of industries. Responsibilities Compile and synthesize research information to be used in business and industry analysis, valuation, and various other applications Make a significant contribution to preparing new business proposals/presentations, transaction marketing materials as well as support business development initiatives Participate in and contribute to client meetings and presentations Manage, prioritize and execute on multiple assignments at the same time with an exceptional standard of performance Qualifications & Characteristics A business undergraduate degree with specialization in finance/accounting (CFA and/or CPA designations optional but beneficial) and relevant professional corporate finance, investment banking, M&A advisory and/or private equity experience Superior relevant technical skills: excellent analytical abilities, financial modeling, and valuation techniques and practices with meticulous attention to detail Experience with industry technology (MS Office applications, Capital IQ, FactSet or similar platform) Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues A strong work ethic and ‘self-starter’ mindset with an ability to excel under pressure in an environment without constant supervision and possessing a motivation to succeed Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills and unquestioned professionalism, ethics and ability to exercise strong independent judgment
