Position: Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst (6 Month Contract) The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will play a key role in solving complex business problems by conceptualizing, designing, developing and testing analytical solutions as required. These tactics will support data discovery, analysis, reporting and predictive analytics to support decision-making across the foundation. The BI Analyst will also work independently with internal teams and collaboratively across the company. This position reports to Manager, Business Intelligence and System Integration.

What you’ll do; • Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecard • Develop comprehensive frameworks for reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, tools and external data sources • Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in all reporting • Work with business partners to understand business objectives and develop value-added reporting and provide ad-hoc data extracts • Architect the principles to build the Enterprise Data Warehouse • Adopt, implement and effectively evolve report automation standards • Liaise with business stakeholders to conduct effective discussions on project/reporting needs, data specifications, priority and timeline to ensure timely and accurate deliveries • Ensure the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation for key BI & Reporting processes and deliverables • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and implement process improvements • Stay knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the industry • Work collaboratively on teams to conceptualize, design, develop, test, and harden deployment of advanced analytics; • Analyze data, data discovery, gap analysis tasks to understand the data and the requirements specified • Work in an agile team with the business product owners to achieve business value using technology including defining business intelligence dashboards, data visualizations and advanced analytics to meet the business needs • Participate in support activities on an on-call weekly rotation What we are looking for; • A University degree or diploma in Computer Science or other technically related subject or equivalent experience • 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analysis including working with business users, analyzing and troubleshooting data issues to effectively leverage the MS Business Intelligence tech stack • 3 years’ experience of designing, implementing, and administering solutions in MicroStrategy • 3 years’ experience of implementing BI solutions in SQL 2008/2012 database, ETL, SSRS, SSIS and SSAS • 3 years of related work experience reporting, analysis, and/or data mining especially in the retail, food, warehousing or transportation sectors • Familiar with Oracle database, able to write PL-SQL queries, views, and procedures • Proficiency in database access methods and utilities • In-depth understanding of BI concepts of Data Warehousing, Data Marts, ETL processes and multidimensional cubes • Project management skill set • Strong verbal and written communication skills – Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical individuals • Strong analytical, time management, organization, problem solving, and customer service skills • Required to work outside of normal working hours at times, including being part of a rotating support schedule Work Environment; • Work is performed in an office environment with regular involvement in and participation in meetings • Required to work outside of normal working hours at times, including being part of a rotating support schedule • Primary location is Longo’s Support Centre Longo’s is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
