Covenant House Vancouver
With over 25 years of experience providing unconditional love and absolute respect to youth experiencing homelessness, Covenant House Vancouver (“CHV”) makes a positive difference for at-risk street youth across Western Canada. Our organization helps young people aged 16 to 24 who have fled physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; those who have been forced from their homes; and those who have aged out of foster care. With an international presence across 6 countries and 34 cities, Covenant House Vancouver is part of a network that builds a bridge to hope for young people facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking through relentless support. Our doors are open 24/7 and our high-quality programs are designed to empower young people to rise and overcome adversity, today and in the future. Covenant House Vancouver offers a continuum of services using evidence-informed theories and practices that ensure we care for the entire person — mind, body, and spirit. Services range from outreach and drop-in to housing and support services that enable youth to transition into independence successfully. Enhancing the understanding of the related issues and delivering impactful programs is a hallmark of Covenant House, and few not-for-profits in this market have earned such a strong reputation for the way in which the organization goes about its work: smartly, professionally, consistently, and empathetically. Our organization has a tremendous reputation locally, nationally, and internationally and volunteers, staff and donors speak with pride about the work being done. During a time of meaningful change and renewal, Covenant House Vancouver is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible and accountable for providing leadership in all aspects, services, and activities of Covenant House Vancouver, and ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of the CHV’s strategic and operational plans. The CEO fosters and leads CHV’s relationships with all stakeholders including members, staff, the Board of Directors, funders, all levels of government, advocacy organizations, other community agencies, private and public sector organizations, businesses, special interest groups and members of the public. Covenant House has grown to truly become a movement. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a purpose-driven and values-focused organization that makes a difference in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness, and to lead one of the most important not-for-profits in Canada. The ideal candidate will be a talented organizational leader, culture-maker, and team builder capable of leading a largely privately funded agency. This experience will likely have been gained in leadership roles in the service and development of others.
