Come discover how you may join our talented team and participate in shaping the future of community healthcare. – Opportunity to be involved in clinical research projects under the supervision of a renowned Senior Clinician-Scientist, MD, PhD, Cardiologist/Internal Medicine specialist Skills: -International Medical Graduate motivated to gain experience in a Canadian medical setting – Completion of MCCQE, USMLE, and/or NAC OSCE is considered an asset. – Recent medical experience (within the last 5 years) is considered an asset. – Strong clinical knowledge and ability to diagnose and treat various medical conditions – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members – Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment – Committed, reliable, and flexible regarding scheduling of shifts (i.e., days, evenings, and weekends) – Professionalism, a positive attitude and enthusiasm. -Respectful of others. – Passion for personal learning, training and ongoing development The Opportunity: The Physician Clinical Assistant position is designed for International Medical Graduates or Internationally Trained Physicians. It is ideal for the individual who is looking to gain knowledge in the Canadian healthcare system and is actively pursuing their medical licensing in North America.
The Physician Clinical Assistant works under the supervision of a physician, taking patient history, conducting physical examination and presenting the case to the physician. What can you expect: – Exposure to common outpatient adult and childhood illnesses in outpatient settings – Exposure to routine care and preventive medicine in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine – Exposure to developmental medicine, primary care, chronic diseases management – Exposure to medical forms including driver’s physicals, Framingham risk score, and others – Exposure to telemedicine calls What You’ll Do: Physician Clinical Assistants are fully trained on and responsible for the following: -Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. -Assist in performing triage, taking patient histories, and conducting limited physical examinations when needed. – Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, optimizing the clinic’s schedule and minimizing patient wait times. – Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care plans. – Appropriate application of scripts, scenarios and clinical skills, and usage of EMR. – Ensure consistent inventory levels through daily stocking of exam rooms. – Ensure a clean & quiet environment by cleaning/sanitizing exam rooms, common spaces. – Proper registration of the patient administratively (i.e. reception, scheduling, collecting payments, etc.) – Basic IT troubleshooting, as needed. – Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and document patient encounters in real-time. – Document patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. – Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring they are current and complete. – Assist with order entry, including prescriptions, referrals, and diagnostic tests as directed by the provider. – Participate in team meetings, training, and other quality improvement initiatives. Compensation: – Starting from $17-19/hour after completion of Performance Review – Following a 3-Month Paid probationary period the Physician Clinical Assistant is eligible for a Performance Review. Following the successful completion of this review, they will have the opportunity to apply for position, Full time , or Part-time 15-20 hours per week.
