Responsibilities: As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, the person will work with the consulting actuaries to • Collect and reconcile pension plan membership data • Calculate pension benefits based on an understanding of the pension plan documents and understanding pension plan provisions • Prepare various member benefit statements • Manage client projects including ProVal actuarial valuations and ongoing administration reporting • Write reports, letters, emails and other correspondence to clients • Understand pension legislation and regulations • Deliver special projects, as required As an Individual pension Plan (“IPP”) consultant, the person will work with the IPP Team to • Peer review IPP registration packages • Peer review and sign IPP actuarial valuation reports • Peer review IPP plan amendments • Participate to IPP consulting calls with investment advisors, IPP clients and accountants • Maintain great working relationships with teammates and clients Qualifications: University degree in actuarial science or related 5 years of experience in a pension consulting and pension administration environment Recent or about to become Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Proficient with MS Office tools Result-oriented with a career objectives Focused on client needs Possessing great average oral and written communication skills and planning, organizing, problem-solving and decision-making skills Bilingual (French) is an asset, but not a requirement Behaviors: Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability to build strong business partner relationships. Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
