What can you expect in this role?. We are looking for a Data Engineering Co-op to write and test java code.

Through this work you will be utilizing both system analysis and technical skills. You will gain significant exposure to JAVA development, exposure to distributed computing systems, and visibility into the business allowing you to understand policy lifecycle management and how distributed modern architectures are used to communicate to legacy-based environments. This is an ideal opportunity for third and fourth year students. This position reports to the Big Data Team Lead and receives day-to-day supervision from the Project Manager and/or Technical Lead/Specialist.

What you’ll be doing Analyzing customer, system and performance requirements Contributing to solution developing and designing Testing the executable components Programming / coding Testing (Unit, Integration & Load) Documenting solutions, systems Co-ordinating production implementation and releases Tuning performance What you bring Currently enrolled in a University or College Program; preferred field of study is Computer Science, Technology or related Business discipline Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a wide array of tools and techniques including, but not limited to: Web-based applications (Java / J2EE, XML) Object-oriented programming and design and web technologies (i.e. STRUTS, JDO, JBDC) Platform knowledge (UNIX, Windows) Hadoop and distributed systems knowledge JavaScript Scripting GIT SQL Did you know?.
