ECE/IT

The Kamloops Child Development Centre is looking for a qualified ECE and/or ECE/IT, to join our team We are an innovative, non-profit who strives to provide the very best experience in childcare. We are a nature-based centre and support a learn through play philosophy with a large emphasis on outdoor and natural play. We are a large, well-established childcare centre and believe in supporting all the staff on our team. You will work within a team atmosphere in a warm and supportive environment. We encourage all our ECE’s to lead their own classroom programming and are available to support your efforts through modelling and the sharing of ideas. No matter the weather, the majority of the day is spent outside. Our children love it outside and we design our activities to encourage gross and fine motor skills, creative and imaginative play all while exploring nature. Whether you go for a walk across the street in Macdonald Park (or beyond) or spend the afternoon in our newly developing Forest Playground the adventures await. To succeed in this position, you need: • an ECE and first aid certificate • a love of the outdoors • a genuine interest in working with children • the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children • a positive, friendly attitude • initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision We offer a competitive salary range from $21-$24 per hour (plus the $4.00 ECE Wage enhancement) with a very healthy benefit package (including extended health and dental), a full-time work schedule of 36 hours over a four-day week.
