POSITION: ERP Senior Systems Analyst/Developer DEPARTMENT: IT TYPE: Full Time, Permanent LOCATION: Brampton, ON JOB SUMMARY Assist in the definition and documentation of software business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with end users (BPOs and SMEs). Propose and design technical solutions based on documentation of software business requirements, objectives and deliverables on a project by project basis. Using SDLC models, perform computer program development, testing, debugging, code promotion and system architecture changes per project technical specifications. Works under general direction only and is capable of working on the most complex assignments.
Accountable for planning ERP system solutions in support of business requirements. Consulted for technical advice with system design considerations. Develops or integrates the agreed upon solutions using established software development life cycle(SDLC) processes. Maintains specialized technical knowledge of ERP system customizations and ISV processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES Plan ERP system change solutions with BPOs and BAs to meet changing business requirements, or to design process improvements. Help project teams understand the possible technologies that are available and feasible to address the solution requirements. Translate technical issues, verify and explain technical/architectural complexities to project stakeholders. Perform technical analysis of ERP system changes requests.
Investigate technical details of the business requirements needed for system design specifications. Includes alternative approaches to help make sure the most efficient and cost effective solution is derived. Look at opportunity for process reengineering instead of source code customization. The system design will include a recommendation on how to implement the requirements into code.
Design and develop ERP solutions using code, database, integration, and other development tools as needed. Perform unit tests and help identify parts that need further testing to verify the solution. Collaborate with other project team members, BPOs, BAs, etc. over the course of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle). Promote code changes through established Unit, Integrated, and User Acceptance Testing processes.
Update Share Point Issue Log technical documentation to help understand decisions, approaches, code, and challenges for future enhancement. Provide specialized technical support for ERP system customizations and ISV processes. Collaborate with System Administrators in specialized areas of expertise. This includes expertise with code promotions, system settings, database transactions, etc.
Keep up on technology changes and share new knowledge with colleagues. Participate in career development through the user community to innovate, automate, and bring effeciency to ERP. KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree/education in similar background of Information Technology 6-10 years of relevant work experience in a similar role Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and excellent communication skills Specific knowledge of core Dynamics AX development tools, including X, SSRS, AOT Tools, Data Management (Development of Data entities), D365FO integration with external systems (Custom web service development, recurring integrations, Consuming external web services, OData). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of D365FO development in Visual Studio using X.
Able to promote code changes though established testing processes with Visual Studio and Azure DevOps. SSRS report development in D365 using Visual Studio. Working knowledge of SQL server databases and IIS for use in development environments. Ability to debug complex issues in D365 using the Visual Studio debugger and recommend best approach for resolving issues.
Identify if issue is in DCM customization, ISV customization, or D365 configuration. Technical functional knowledge in AX D365FO ERP modules – Finance, Accounts Payable, Production, Accounts Receivable, Warehousing, Logistics and Sales. Industry experience in manufacturing, marketing, financial and/or distribution industry.
