Full Charge Bookkeeper

Part-time 1 Day Per Week – Full-Charge Bookkeeper Contract Opportunity Robert Half is actively searching for for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements; and establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business. This part-time 1 day per week, contract Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

How you will make an impact: – Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections – Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time – Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers – Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets – Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows – Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing – Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents – Proficiency in bookkeeping – 3-5 years experience in a similar role – Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments – Prior experience with Excel, QuickBooks, and Peachtree – Strong time management and organizational skills – Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight – Ability to multitask and meet deadlines – Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting – Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate – Experience in payroll preferred – Law Firm experience desired, but not required – Ability to work 1 day per week (week-days only) PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time role working 1 day per week.
