Investment Analyst

Position Title: Investment Analyst Location: Calgary, Alberta Orogen Entertainment Orogen Entertainment Ltd. provides private credit and structure finance solutions to the film industry. Following a unique approach, Orogen has the team and capabilities to evaluate and finance projects in all stages of development. At its core, Orogen Entertainment is a structured finance company specializing in providing secured financing. We provide lending secured by tax credits, rebates, grants and pre-sales and will evaluate potential investments in gap / mezzanine loans, bridge loans, finishing funds, print and advertising (P&A) and minimum guarantees.

Position Description Given the fast pace at which Orogen is evaluating investment opportunities, we have identified the need to add a highly motivated individual who will excel in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment. Orogen is recruiting for an Investment Analyst position to assist with evaluating these opportunities. The successful candidate will report directly to the President and CEO; will evaluate investment opportunities and support the team in achieving long term sustainable growth for the Company. In supporting the President and its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Conduct modelling of potential investment opportunities; Provide analytical support, problem solving, and opportunity identification for current projects; Support the investment and operational team in a multitude of ways to maximize the effectiveness of the company; and Ability to work in a combined in office and remote work environment.

Skills and Qualifications One to four years of finance experience which can include experience within: (i) investment banking; (ii) the mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and/or valuations group of an accounting firm; or (iii) a business or corporate development group of an operating company; A high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with advanced financial modeling; Strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience with corporate and investor presentations; Strong finance knowledge and experience evaluating investment opportunities; Resourceful with a desire to find solutions; Strong team orientation balanced with the ability to work autonomously on projects and initiatives; High level of motivation and the ability to work hard; Exceptionally high level of focus on quality of work and attention to detail; CFA designation or presently enrolled in the CFA charter program would be an asset; and Strong sense of integrity and personal accountability.
