Operations and Supply Chain Manager Position Summary The Operations and Supply Chain Manager is accountable for all Manufacturing and Supply Chain activities at the Strathroy Adair site, always ensuring cost effectiveness and operational excellence. To create an environment and culture which maximizes the performance and potential of the workforce to achieve the growth ambitions for the site, while minimizing waste and energy usage to ensure delivery of the site EHS and sustainability agenda. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing the strategy for our new pharmaceutical site and shape the future of our operations in North America. Regular working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.

The Role Develop, Lead and Implementation of the site operational strategies and plans. Introduce performance measures against the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to monitor the effectiveness of the operational strategies. Lead and maintain the first-class EHS standards in place within all Operations and Supply Chain areas ensuring continuous improvement and embedding of a EHS culture with all associates. Continued development and management of third-party suppliers both for materials and services for manufacturing.

To drive best in class in facility standards within manufacturing and warehouse areas worldwide, budgeting for expenditure accordingly and maintaining high quality housekeeping standards. Demonstrating strong leadership skills including motivating, coaching and developing the Operations and Supply Chain team and undertaking annual performance development reviews, including setting clear objectives consistent with the strategic aspirations of the site. Achieve financial objectives by forecasting functional requirements, prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, initiate corrective actions, analyze and recommend information and trends for senior executive decision making. Service customers by establishing critical service factors such as: maintaining quality service/operations; analyzing, defining, developing, and providing systems/resources; and assess results/anticipate trends.

Perform other duties as required. The Candidate Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or related field. MBA or Masters of Engineering preferred. Minimum 7 years of experience in operations management or related field.

Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility an asset. Proven track record of operational leadership within a complex regulated manufacturing environment. Experience of delivering transformational change and embedding the right behaviors and consistency. Experience of delivering operational excellence with the requisite knowledge of appropriate systems and techniques (including lean, waste reduction, energy reduction, scrap).

Previous experience of operational leadership within a complex, regulated manufacturing environment. Ability to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. Use of manual dexterity is required. Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
