Property Accounting Manager

WP Osborne Executive Search is looking to fill a Property Accounting Manager role on behalf of our client, a dynamic, successful, family-owned real estate company located in North York. Property Accounting Manager Reporting to the CFO, the Property Accounting Manager is an individual contributor who will manage both financial and operational responsibilities, including accounting and reporting functions, as well as property ownership and tenant requirements, for a US commercial portfolio. Duties and responsibilities: Maintain general ledger, including posting journal entries, analysis and making adjustments where needed; Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting ensuring that all reporting requirements are met; Completion of monthly bank reconciliations; Review and post monthly rent roll; Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable; Ensure tenant files are current at all times; Responsible for tax reporting and filing, including sales tax and state income tax; Responsible for rent collection and reviewing monthly recurring billings; Read and understand leases to ensure accurate information is received and maintained; Ensure all accounting records related to all properties are kept up to date within guidelines established by generally accepted accounting principles and by the company; Work with external auditors, including the preparation of audit working papers and financial statements; Other special projects, ad-hoc reports, and responsibilities as necessary Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a University degree in Business/Accounting and a professional accounting designation and a minimum of 5 years progressive real estate experience. Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel skills.
