Registered Nurse – IV Therapy

In this role, you will be responsible for providing therapies for antibiotic, non-antibiotic treatments within the clinic. Non-antibiotic treatments may include blood products, specialized infusions, iron infusions and phlebotomies. You will also provide home parental therapy (HPT) patients within the clinic, completing assessments for patients to determine if they can leave the clinic and use personal pumps at home (HPT), provide education for patients to empower them to achieve their best health outcomes. In this role, you’ll also care for medical in patients.

You may work in other ambulatory clinics throughout the hospital including the cardiac clinic, outpatient department or Advanced Vascular Access Service (AVAS). The IV Therapy clinic is an outpatient clinic located within the Sturgeon Hospital. It is an exciting opportunity for a RN interested in building a foundation that promotes the health and well-being of the community. The team in the IV Clinic is small but mighty and work cohesively to ensure the best patient outcomes and support each other.

As the successful candidate, you will bring with you the ability to adapt to multiple shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will also be able to communicate well with patients, ensuring understanding and being able to adjust your communication style to meet the needs of your audience. You will also be highly collaborative with your team in the collaborative care model but bring with you the ability to work independently as well. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients.

You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour – $43.82/hour. Experience with (ankle-brachial pressure index/ Photoplethysmography) ABI/PPG. Experience with complex wound care. Experience with Connect Care. Experience working in a cardiac clinic or outpatient clinic.
