We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to support our Mount Sinai Fertility Clinic at our Downtown (250 Dundas St. West) site. At Mount Sinai Fertility, we are committed to helping our patients become pregnant and create families while maintaining their overall health and well-being. You will be responsible for the delivery of comprehensive assessment, patient education and counselling, and care coordination and delivery for women and families seeking care for fertility issues as well as participation in program quality improvement, education and research activities.

Responsible for comprehensive nursing assessment of women and their partners/family Coordination of care for women and their partners receiving treatment in the departments various programs (e.g. IVF, Sperm Wash, Ovum donation, oncology banking, etc.) Communicating daily with other team members such as physicians, residents, fellows, embryologist, andrologists, secretarial and social work Provision of patient education in one-on-one and group settings Assisting and /or performing various procedures in the clinic and procedure room setting such as ultrasound, IUI’s, OPU’s, ET, sonohysterograms and hysteroscopies Providing emotional support and counselling to women, their partners and families Supporting women and families through the various ethical decisions that may be required as they explore various treatment options Providing emotional support and grief counselling to women and families who are not successful in achieving pregnancy Participation in education of various health professional students and colleagues Participation in professional development, quality improvement and research activities within the program Counselling patients daily re successful versus failed outcomes Job Requirements Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario BScN either completed or in progress (preferred) Current ACLS (preferred) Recent experience in perinatal and/or women’s health nursing Recent experience in in fertility nursing Recent experience in IV/venipuncture (preferred) Demonstrated ability to apply nursing knowledge of infertility and the female hormones involved in reproduction. Ovulation induction, controlled ovarian stimulation and third party reproduction. Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment Well developed interpersonal skills Confidence in communicating with women and families about sensitive issues (i.e. grief and loss, pregnancy termination, female and male sexual functioning, relationship concerns) Confidence in working with diverse patients and families including members of LGBT community Experience facilitating group education session an asset Experience providing patient care as part of clinical research trials / studies an asset Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history Open Date 10/14/2022 Posting Deadline 9/30/2023 All applications must be submitted by no later than 4:00pm of the posting deadline date.
