Excellent opportunity to learn the business, contribute to its growth and actively participate in the enhancement and development of IT, Finance and Governance systems. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting & Analysis, this position will be an integral part of the month end process and financial analysis.Responsibilities: Perform monthly accounting activities and prepare full-cycle financial statements, including standard and special journal entries. Analyze accounting records to identify issues and ensure timely investigation and correcting entries. Analyze and report on variances.

Preparing GL account reconciliations and in-depth analysis. Provide analysis and support to the management team. Participate in monthly financial statement reviews with senior management. Active participant in continuous improvement by working closely with the IT department.

Participate in quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation. Assist in the external audit, bank audits and tax reporting. Preparation of quarterly presentations and the related detailed variance analysis. Recommend appropriate changes to improve systems and controls, and assist in the development of corrective action plans where required.

Process improvement in Finance with Lean/Six Sigma approach to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Must be able to interact with senior company management and internal customers in a productive and professional manner. Complete special projects and analysis as required.Qualifications Great Plains and Management Reporter experience. Accounting designation and/or like academic qualification. 3-5 years general accounting experience.

Experience in a manufacturing environment or inventory experience is an asset Strong analytical skills. Critical thinking for effective issue resolution. Advanced spreadsheet, data warehouse management and reporting capabilities Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
