Senior Analyst, Canadian Circulation

The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Senior Analyst, Canadian Circulation who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. As the Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the Canadian Circulation business is set up for future success. The Canadian Circulation team is responsible for manufacturing and distributing Canadian coinage. One of the team’s primary objectives is to ensure that people and businesses across Canada have the coins they need for trade and commerce while ensuring that the coin distribution system remains resilient.

You will support the health and sustainability of the coin ecosystem by providing insights and analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop rich narratives that help explain marketplace changes by using superior problem solving skills. Formulate and verify hypotheses by exploring the relationship between both quantitative and qualitative data. Provide insights into key areas of the business by preforming robust data analysis.

Provide recommendations and guidance to management and senior leadership to help support sound business decision-making. Use strong business acumen to translate complex ideas into easy to understand concepts. Assist in systems development to ensure the business has the correct tools and infrastructure to support future needs. Integrate data from several locations/sources to gain a cohesive and richer understanding of the business.

Develop financial forecasts, profit/loss statements and operational plans used to guide program success. Create dashboards and reports to monitor program key performance indicators (KPIs), identify key trends/risks and determine key areas for continuous improvement. Provide assistance with the corporate planning and budgeting processes. Engage in advanced modeling techniques, business case development and cost benefit analysis to ensure programs are aligned with strategic corporate initiatives.

Provide sound recommendations based on quantitative/qualitative observations. Liaise with multiple program stakeholders (internal/external) including, but not limited to, information technology (IT), purchasing, risk management, finance, legal and external suppliers. Negotiate and assist in drafting contracts with 3rd party vendors. Develop and improve existing internal/external reporting to solve business problems and satisfy program stakeholders.

Interpret reports and data to provide insights rather than just reporting business activity. Identify Improvement opportunities, taking into consideration industry best practices for data analysis and information management. Take a leadership role in strategic project development and implementation. Become a subject matter expert on key initiatives and datasets.

Requirements: University degree or certificate in related area Minimum of 7 years of related experience Knowledge of MS Office suite of products Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, data tables, functions) Knowledge of data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau etc.) Knowledge of analytical techniques such as regression analysis, time series and modeling Knowledge of statistical software is an asset (Minitab, R, SAS, SPSS, etc.) Demonstrated experience presenting to the leadership of an organization Demonstrated experience developing relationships with external clients/vendors Strong business writing skills Strong business and financial acumen The health and safety of our employees are a top priority.
