POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Inventory Accountant will impact the organization by collaborating with the international and corporate accounting and finance teams to support the monthly close, consolidation, and financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and tax returns. This position will also assist in researching technical accounting and tax guidance and continuously improving accounting, reporting and tax processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and reconcile all Inventory accounts. Prepare the Inventory reserve calculation file on a quarterly basis; coordinate reserve meetings with the Operations Team Cost accounting: Calculate and support labor and overhead capitalization Implement & maintain Inventory controls in compliance with SOX (including the testing of internal controls); actively work to resolve all related issues and promote best practices Work with Operations Team to ensure Inventory transactions are posted correctly upfront.
Coordinate and lead periodic physical stock takes with the Ops team Prepare other account reconciliations and related analysis as required to support the monthly close, quarterly reviews and annual audits for local and international entities. Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility and related reporting for local and international entities. Work with corporate accounting and finance teams to coordinate all close and reporting requirements. Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members in delivering high quality, decision ready information to our business partners wherever needed. Perform special purpose or ad hoc analyses as required REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: University degree in accounting required. 5 years relevant professional experience is required. ACA /ACCA/CIMA (one of the 3 is required). Strong understanding of U.S. and Irish GAAP, and IFRS accounting and reporting.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains a plus Experience in the design, documentation and testing of internal controls in a Sarbanes -Oxley environment an advantage. Strong organizational and project management skills.
