Your Role at Baxter: In this role, you will be resposible for the overall relationship management and providing strategic direction to 3rd party Logistics Provider and simultaneously leading strategic customer operations initiatives related to CPFR, VMI, and Efficient Replenishment and Complaints resolution. You will be also responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and processes that will ensure optimal financial performance in the areas of warehouse and transportation (logistics) and customer replenishment, while meeting or exceeding internal and external customer service requirements What you’ll be doing: Manage existing 3PL partnerships and agreements in line with MSA by establishing operational cadence (Tier Meetings, MBRs, QBRs) and developing, implementing and managing metrics scorecards to ensure all operational, financial and service metrics are consistently achieved in line with MSA Work with OPEX and Supply Chain analytics to identify, implement, and monitor VIPs Implement best-in-class, practices to ensure the cost-effective, efficient and accurate movement of finished products to appropriate warehouses and point of sales across Canada, Ensure end-to-end systems and processes are seamlessly integrated including inventory Management, order picking, order fulfillment, inbound, outbound,the and inter-warehouse distribution, Identify trends in service failures or incremental cost drivers and facilitate activity between ,internal Baxter team and 3PL teams and Customers in order to implement corrective actions to improve performance Develop national warehouse management strategies and processes that minimize costs, enhance delivery and meet/exceed established quality and customer service levels, Oversee deployment and network balancing requirements and Inventory reconciliation requirements ensuring compliance and mitigating shrinkage allowance risks Lead/support all Health & Safety initiatives in conjunction with regional 3PL DCMs Customer Operations and Cross Functional Coordination Develop and maintain the cost to serve model – leveraging insights to partner with key customers on implementing efficient replenishment programs Responsible for evaluating and overseeing direct ship programs with key regional customers Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate collaborative forecasting programs with strategic customers and distribution partners in support of corporate mission, vision and values, Manage Complaints process and trends ensuring corrective actions are in place and voice of the customer requirements are addressed Ensure that national product recall processes and product launches (and decommissioning) are executed in the most efficient, safe and cost-effective manner, Manage and facilitate all facets of logistics’ management activities between business units, suppliers and customers, and provide logistics subject matter expertise on various projects Budget Development & Management Work with Finance to develop Annual financial plan for Logistics Budget Develop, manage and implement weekly, monthly and annual transportation and warehousing budgets and financial forecasting processes, Achieve budget and forecast commitments each month, In collaboration with procurement, monitor all external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that they provide the best value to the organization. Talent Leadership Provide coaching and feedback to staff, ensuring ongoing employee development, team and individual performance objective alignment and attainment, Attract, engage and develop a high-performance logistics’ team, Coordinate and review work assignments of direct reports to ensure that all established objectives are met, Drive accountability for all core internal and 3PL processes including employee engagement and performance management, Develop talent in line with succession planning goals of the Supply Chain organization What you’ll bring: Post Secondary Degree in Distribution & Fleet management or Logistics / supply chain certification 5 years of transportation, fleet and distribution operations management 5 years of management experience in a logistics role (with emphasis on transportation management), managing a multi – warehouse operation, 3PL/4PL relationship 3-5 years network and route optimization involving over the road, intermodal and ocean solutions Preferred: 1-2 years import / export distribution Broad understanding of the Canadian Regulatory requirements for Canadian Healthcare manufacturers Managed a national or large multi-regional transportation operation for a manufacturing organization Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and processes including dynamic routing systems Knowledge of the Canada Customs Act and other required regulatory requirements International import/export distribution management Management of external carriers and captive fleets Network optimization (with a processes focus on fleet management and asset maximization solutions) ERP systems and process (SAP, APO, JDE, Manugistics)problem-solving Ability to facilitate manage and lead major change initiatives Project management skills complimented with financial metrics tracking Application of LEAN principles Communication and presentation skills Strong analytical and business problem solving skills IT/IS experience (TMS solutions implementation and operational management).
