Come and join the Advisian Material Handling team and find outSenior Material Handling EngineerWe are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Material Handling Engineer with a background in mining projects to join our Material Handling team. In this important role, you will be responsible for the design and development of bulk handling systems to complement our mining group developments and develop efficient and optimized sites for our clients.

Your expertise will have been gained in mine engineering and operations or in a heavily mine focused engineering operation and will contribute to the overall success of our client projects by implementing best practices and maintaining a high level of organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of warehouse and production facility operations.Our team includes well respected world class technical experts and a dynamic range of junior and intermediate engineers and support staff. The Senior Material Handling Engineer is a full-time position based in East Vancouver, BC.Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:The responsibilities of the role cover all aspects of projects from conceptual and feasibility studies through to FEED stages for multiple clients concurrently. These may include:· Input into mine site layout and design, working with the process and client teams to develop and implement an efficient and safe layouts for bulk handling systems, storage systems and truck or rail loading systems· Input into refinery facility layout and design, working with the process and client teams to develop and implement efficient production facilities for refinery locations including material reception and storage, additives reception, handling and storage and finished product load out and distribution.· Facility Inspection and Process Improvement· Preparation of technical specifications and reports for bulk handling and logistics systems related to mine site development and operation· Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of budget costs, estimates and documentation.· Technology Implementation: Stay up-to-date with current mining techniques and principles including autonomous equipment and operations and other relevant technologies and identify opportunities to implement automation and digitalization to streamline operations for our clients.· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all projects· Develop work plans, budgets, estimates and manpower forecasts· Track and report work progress· Mentor junior engineers and prepare training plans· Be available for short term assignments worldwide· Establish and grow internal and external client relationsQualifications:· A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mine engineering, logistics or a related field· Proven experience in mine operations/engineering or mine project development including selection of handling systems and equipment· Experience with conveyor and feeder design, stockpile systems, and industry best practices· Experience with bulk bagging and packaging equipment is an asset· Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC· Excellent technical writing and presentation skills· Experience with Computer Aided Design software and Microsoft Office is preferred· Good communication skills both written and verbal· Excellent organizational and time management skills· Exceptional interpersonal skillsAdvisian offers an excellent remuneration & benefits package, a friendly, professional, dynamic and flexible work environment along with the opportunity to develop your career prospects within Canada and overseas.We strive to be an industry leader in health, safety and environmental performance.
