As a Senior Traction Power Engineer, you will be responsible for providing power engineering and integration services for a variety of transportation modes and projects in North America. Your role includes building and maintaining client relationships, performing studies, designing systems, overseeing assets during construction, and leading projects to successful completion. Responsibilities: Build and maintain external client relationships to a high level of trust and engagement Perform initial studies, design system level concepts, and detailed designs Oversee delivery of assets through the construction phase Coordinate with other discipline leads and members for a collaborative approach to problem solving Design, construct, and commission traction power systems and organize junior resources to assist Establish appropriate operational budgets for the Electrical Systems team and effectively manage costs and delivery performance Communicate decisions, contractual clarifications, or technical explanations on all matters relating to Electrical System service offerings to both internal and external clients Develop creative and innovative solutions to overcome challenges encountered during a project’s lifecycle Assist with business growth and new work pursuits in collaboration with other team members Perform “by example” in achieving company health, safety, security & environmental and ethics & compliance objectives Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience Licensed Professional Engineer Professional experience in Rail & Transit or Power Transmission & Distribution systems is preferred Knowledge of MV/HV power cables, MV switchgear & protection types, power transformers, and substation ancillary systems Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills Familiarity with engineering specialist and construction project managers is necessary Working knowledge of FACTS, filtering, and other power conditioning equipment and their applications PMP designation is an asset Knowledge of and experience with systems engineering is an asset
