The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is a dynamic Catholic school board committed to the delivery of quality educational programs and services from a Catholic faith perspective. DPCDSB, one of Ontario’s largest school boards in Ontario, is comprised of approximately 73,000 students enrolled in 151 schools (125 elementary and 26 secondary) throughout the diverse GTA municipalities of Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, and Orangeville. DPCDSB employs approximately 8,000 faculty and staff to deliver and support its Catholic educational mission. We are currently accepting applications for the position of: ​ Superintendent of Financial Services ​ The ideal candidate will bring to the position: ​ A record of effective management practices to ensure the efficient operation of all financial services, payroll, audit and supply chain management functions.

Requires the development of sound financial systems and controls, policies and procedures, monitoring of expenditures and the procuring of revenue within relevant board policies and the Acts and Regulations of the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada framework of responsibility, accountability and transparency. Experience in effectively overseeing supply chain management (procurement procedures), the development of board budgets (operating and capital), grants, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and year-end financial statement preparation. Demonstrated track record of being a problem solver and supporting and understanding the needs and challenges of departments, schools and the instructional teams, including principals, support staff and supervisory officers. Experience with financial accountability in schools, including school budgets, school generated funds, school council funds and online payment systems.

Experience in cash and treasury management including investment of funds to maximize revenue. Experience in establishing policies and implementing operational/managerial accounting and auditing procedures to ensure that the integrity and resources of the board are safeguarded and protected. Experience with Regional Internal Audit Teams and external auditors. Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining effective working relationships within the board, and with trustees, the ministry of education, associations, municipalities and other school boards.

A record of commitment to educational programs and services that respects and upholds the philosophy and traditions of Catholic schools in Dufferin-Peel and throughout the Province of Ontario. A record of effective decision making based on an understanding of the complexity of a large Catholic educational organization and the service orientation of Financial Services in supporting the delivery of instructional programs and services. Qualifications: Supervisory Officer Qualifications Program (SOQP) completed or willingness to obtain the qualification (pursuant to Regulation 309 of the Education Act); A related University degree and Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) required. A record of exemplary leadership in publicly funded organizations.
