Position Summary: As a Supply Chain Manager at Ganong, you will assume a key leadership role in driving the seamless and strategic management of our end-to-end supply chain processes.
This pivotal position entails the oversight of Procurement (Raw Materials, Commodities, Packaging), Logistics (Inbound and Outbound), Warehousing (Shipping & Receiving) and Customer Service. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Supply Chain Manager will manage a dedicated team where your expertise and vision will be instrumental in optimizing our supply chain operations and contributing to the company’s overall success. Key Responsibilities: Contract Negotiation: • In collaboration with Buyers, negotiate best-price contracts with suppliers to optimize costs and ensure the flow of materials meets business requirements. • Negotiate carrier service contracts and establish regular performance evaluation cadence to ensure deliverables are achieved • Manage strategic purchasing of key commodities through monitoring market pricing, supply risks and the global business environment impacting essential commodity inputs for forward hedging and managing component costs Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Collaborate with various departments to ensure Supply Chain’s alignment with organizational objectives • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers Relationship & Program Management: • In collaboration with Buyers, identify, develop, and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. • Management of Supply Chain Programs and compliance initiatives (C-TPAT, CHEP Pallets, Rainforest Alliance, etc.) Inventory Management: • Oversee inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turns and minimize holding costs. • Identify opportunities for material reuse or recycling to minimize consumption of new materials, reduce waste, or convert waste to by-products. • Monitor current events and forecasts that may impact material management and adapt strategies to address potential challenges. Customer Service Excellence: • Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction through timely order fulfillment and effective issue resolution.
Strategic Planning: • Develop and implement strategic plans for the supply chain to meet organizational goals. Performance Monitoring: • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance supply chain performance. Team Leadership: • Lead and mentor a team of direct reports, including Warehouse Manager, Buyers, and Customer Service Representatives with Safety as a top priority • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. • Take a proactive role in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment within the Supply Chain department. • Provide guidance and training to the Warehouse Manager, Buyers, and Customer Service Representatives to enhance their skills and capabilities. Continuous Improvement: • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, identifying opportunities for innovation and cost savings. • Evaluate and enhance supply chain processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field. • Proven supply chain management experience, focusing on team leadership. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
