Singham Again is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action film written and directed by Rohit Shetty, who also co-produced it under his banner, Rohit Shetty Picturez, in collaboration with Reliance Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Devgn Films. Based on a story conceived by Kshitij Patwardhan, the film features Ajay Devgn reprising the titular role, alongside a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. It serves as the fifth installment in Shetty’s Cop Universe franchise.
Initially announced in September 2017 with the working title Singham 3, the official title was revealed in December 2022. Filming commenced in September 2023 and concluded in September 2024, with key locations including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kashmir, and Sri Lanka. The film’s soundtrack and background score were composed by Ravi Basrur, replacing Shetty’s regular collaborator Amar Mohile, while Thaman S. contributed a guest-composed song. Lyrics were written by Swanand Kirkire, returning from the 2011 original, with Kumaar also penning lyrics for a track.
Marking a departure from previous entries, Singham Again is the first in the franchise not written by brothers Farhad Samji and Sajid Samji. It is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made and ranks among the costliest non-English-language films globally.
